Click Speed Ranks — CPS Tiers Explained

Every click test on ClickBattle gives you a rank based on your clicks per second (CPS). The faster you click, the higher you climb — from Beginner all the way to Legend. Here's every tier, what it takes to reach it, and how the fastest clickers get there. Think you can hit Pro? There's only one way to find out.

F

Beginner

0–3 CPS — Just getting started.

Everyone starts here. This is a relaxed, everyday clicking pace — the speed you'd use to click a link, not to win a fight. There's no technique to learn yet: tap a little faster, stay with the timer, and you'll climb out of this tier on your second or third run.

D

Casual

4+ CPS — Getting the hang of it.

A comfortable pace for most people clicking normally. Normal clicking — one finger, no tricks — lands between 4 and 6 CPS, so this is where the majority of first-time testers arrive without doing anything special. If you've played a few rounds you're probably already here, and warming up first is the cheapest way to climb.

C

Skilled

6+ CPS — Above average speed.

Now you're clicking with intent. Skilled sits right around the average, so reaching it means you've found a rhythm and you're actually focusing. It's also the top of what normal clicking gives you: past roughly 6 CPS a single relaxed finger runs out of room, and going faster means changing how you click rather than trying harder.

B

Expert

8+ CPS — Impressive clicking speed.

Serious speed, and the first tier normal clicking can't really reach. At 8 CPS and up most players have picked up a deliberate technique instead of tapping harder — jitter clicking, which channels a tensed-forearm tremor through one finger, runs about 9 to 13 CPS and starts paying off right about here. Common territory for Minecraft PvP players, and enough to win most fights.

A

Master

10+ CPS — Top tier performance.

Elite clicking, and the band where the two main techniques overlap. Jitter clicking covers roughly 9 to 13 CPS and butterfly clicking — alternating two fingers on the same button — covers 10 to 16, so either one can put you here. What separates Master from Expert is holding the number rather than spiking it once. Few casual players reach it.

S

Pro

12+ CPS — Professional-level speed.

Pro-level speed, and past the practical ceiling of jitter clicking — around 13 CPS is where the tremor tends to run out. From here up butterfly clicking does most of the work, since two fingers sharing the load can sustain a rate one finger cannot. This is the domain of dedicated Minecraft PvP players, and it takes grooved, repeatable technique rather than effort.

S+

Legend

15+ CPS — World-class clicking.

The top of the ladder, and effectively the ceiling of legitimate by-hand clicking. Butterfly clicking tops out around 16 CPS, so Legend is the last tier a real hand can hold. Drag clicking spikes past 20, but it's a friction burst you can't aim or sustain and it's banned on many servers — which is why it never turns into a rank you can defend. If you're here honestly, you're among the fastest clickers around.

The ladder is the same whichever test you run. A 10-second result and a 60-second one map to these identical tiers, so a rank you can hold at length says more about your clicking than one you spiked for a second and never repeated.

If you're not sure what to train next, our guide to every clicking method lays out jitter, butterfly, and drag side by side with the CPS each realistically unlocks, and what counts as a good CPS puts the everyday numbers in context before you chase a tier.
