How do you test your reaction time?
Reaction time measures how fast you respond to something the moment it appears — you wait for a box to flip from red to green and click the instant it does, scored in milliseconds where lower is faster. A good reaction time is anything under about 250ms, the human average; under 200ms is fast, the band trained gamers live in, and under 150ms is exceptional, close to the body's hard limit. Holding the key down doesn't count — each press has to be its own up-and-down motion, so you can't cheat it by leaning on the bar. Most people land around 6 to 8 presses per second at a natural pace; push past 8 and you're moving fast, and a steady 10 or more puts you in the top slice of casual testers.

Speed only helps if your crosshair is on the target when the click fires, so an aim test drills accuracy — landing hits — rather than raw CPS. Which test should you use?
Start from what you're trying to answer:
- "How fast can I click?" — the CPS test. It's the raw-speed number, and the one most Minecraft and clicking benchmarks are built on.
- "Are my reflexes any good?" — the reaction time test. This is your FPS and fighting-game skill, and it's independent of how fast you click.
- "How fast is my keyboard hand?" — the spacebar test, for movement-heavy games where the jump key does real work.
